Elder At Lookout Mtn. Presbyterian Was Owner Of Specialty Footwear
David Michael Mooney, 51, of Lookout Mountain, Tenn., died on Sunday evening, Oct. 5, 2008.
Michael was a beloved husband and father, known for the way in which he exemplified his favorite verse, "O people, the Lord has already told you what is good and this is what he requires, to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
Michael served faithfully as an elder of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church and was the owner of Specialty Footwear Co.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Powell Mooney; daughter, Emma Kate Mooney; and son, William Davis Mooney, all of Lookout Mountain. He also is survived by his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Jean Mooney; and sister, Dr. Suzanne Mooney; brother, Emery (Maribeth) Balthrop; nephew, Christopher Patrick (Stacie) Balthrop; niece, Christian DeAnn Balthrop; brother-in-law, James Edward (Sally) Powell; and mother-in-law, Martha Jan Powell.
A private interment will be held on Tuesday, at Forest Hills Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Joe Novenson and Rev. Frank Hitchings.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, 316 N. Bragg Ave., Lookout Mountain, TN 37350; or Widows Harvest Ministry, P.O. Box 23071, Chattanooga, TN 37409.
